About Project Endure

Project Endure is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, based in Auburn, CA, that helps fund innovative childhood cancer research through our partner Unravel, provides support to local families battling pediatric cancer in Auburn and surrounding cities, and raises awareness through raw endurance running films and storytelling.

Created in memory of Landon Meo, Project Endure exists to fight childhood cancer through extreme endurance fundraising, and to honor the children enduring (or who have endured) the unendurable. And, to remind the rest of us, that these kids show what real endurance means. For the deeper story behind this mission, read the message from Landon's Dad.

About Project Endure

A message from Landon's Dad

On March 25th, 2021, my son Landon was diagnosed with medulloblastoma — the most common childhood brain cancer. After a courageous 21-month battle, he passed away on December 17, 2022. After Landon passed, I took up running as a way to grieve and cope. The first time I tried, I barely made it three houses down the street, quit, and walked home. I’m not an athlete — I’m just an average guy who watched his son endure the unendurable and then began to deeply question my own inability to endure (or do) anything at all. 2 years, 3,000+ miles, and half a million feet of elevation gain later, someone told me hey maybe you can do something with this. So the idea for Project Endure was born - a journey to endure some of the hardest runs in the world, for the kids who endure(d) the unendurable. It might sound counterintuitive, but Project Endure isn’t about Landon — it’s about the inspiration he left behind. It's about how Landon, and all kids fighting cancer (Landon calls them "Kickasskids"), are in fact stronger than we'll ever be. How can they inspire us to be better in our own lives? What can we accomplish if we understand what hard really is? Landon's will to endure sparked something in me that won’t go away: a raw, relentless drive to go further and be better. Because no matter how “hard” something feels, it will never come close to what he — and so many other kids — have faced and are still facing every single day. I can't cure childhood cancer, but if I can help just a little, then sign me up. So what now? How far can I run for these kids? We’re about to find out.
